Briarlake Foundation (BESF) Purpose
The Purpose of the Briarlake Foundation is to raise money to help fund strategic long term goals for Briarlake Elementary School and to provide funding in areas for which the PTA and School Council are unable to provide for. The Foundation can:
Who is The Foundation?
You are the Foundation. Parents, teachers, administration and our community are integral parts of the Foundation. An elected board of volunteers serve to help facilitate fundraising and distribute funds to maximize donations. The Foundation works along side of our partners, the PTA and School Council, to help support the teachers, staff and administration of Briarlake Elementary School. The Foundation supports funding for larger and long-term projects, and resources that will enhance the educational experience of our students.
The 2016 Foundation is lead by a dedicated board of volunteers.
Greg Brass, Co-Chair
Greg and his wife Holly, have a 6th grader (Benjamin) and a 3rd grader (Lily) attending Briarlake. Greg and Holly volunteer for numerous positions and activities supporting Briarlake. Greg is the Director of Operations Technology at CareerBuilder.
Ann Mancuso, Co-Chair
Ann is the parent of a 3rd grader (Bobby) at Briarlake Elementary. Ann has enthusiastically served Briarlake in
a number of chair and volunteer positions. She has worked as a paralegal for 16 years, 14 years at the National Defense Law firm of Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP.
Amber Blanchard, Treasurer
Tim and his wife Allyson have a 4th grader (Wynnton) and a first grader (Tammyn) at Briarlake Elementary. Tim and his wife are very active as leaders and volunteers for the school. Tim is Human Resources Director and Strategic Business Partner, Technical with The Coca-Cola Company.
Claire is married to Rob Foege and has a 5th grader (Ella) at Briarlake. In addition to being a Briarlake parent, Claire is an exceptional teacher at our school and has received the Teacher of the Year award several times. She has been teaching at Briarlake for over 14 years and is currently teaching 3rd grade.
